Peace Center is a nonprofit, non-sectarian, all-volunteer peace
affiliate of the World Peace Prayer Society, which is partnered with the United Nations Department of Public Information. Our philosophy, which is central to all our activites, is
summarized in the following mission statement:
"World Peace Center (WPC) encourages people of all ages and cultures to respect life, to embrace compassion, to live in harmony with self and others, and to celebrate diversity rather than use it as a reason for conflict."
Both in the US and in Third World countries, WPC volunteers help educate people of all ages away from crime, violence, prostitution and drug addiction. We hand-deliver humanitarian aid to the needy and elderly, to children in orphanages, and to victims of personal and natural disaster. In Third World countries, we work alongside other volunteers and nonprofit organizations in schools, clinics, refugee camps and leper communities.
Self-supported and funded almost exclusively on the basis of volunteer efforts, we operate on a tiny budget and do not do fundraisers. As part of a national network of over 70,000 nonprofit organizations, we sustain ourselves on a tiny budget and do not do fundraisers. 100% of all in-kind donations we receive goes directly to programs and services that help people of all ages and cultures live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.
